- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks

- Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined. - Combine Wet Ingredients:
In a separate large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and whole milk. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, whisking until smooth and the sugar is dissolved. - Add Flavor:
Stir in the vanilla extract. If you want to add chocolate chips or chunks, fold them in now. - Chill:
Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until it’s thoroughly chilled. - Churn:
Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes. - Freeze:
Once churned, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm. - Serve:
