Chineese Rice Recipe

Here’s a simple recipe for flavorful Chinese fried rice:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers, etc.)
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2-3 tablespoons soy sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Rice:
  • If using freshly cooked rice, spread it out on a tray to cool and dry slightly, which helps prevent clumping.
  1. Scramble the Eggs:
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beaten eggs and scramble until fully cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  1. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
  • In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Add the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until tender.
  1. Combine Everything:
  • Add the cooked rice to the pan, breaking up any clumps. Stir in the scrambled eggs and cooked protein (if using). Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
  1. Season:
  • Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  1. Garnish:
  • Toss in the chopped green onions just before serving.
