🍵🍫 Choco-Matcha Daydreams
Soft, fluffy muffins swirled with earthy matcha and deep chocolate — a tender bite of calm meets crave.
Ingredients (makes 10–12 muffins):
Base batter:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/2 cup neutral oil (like sunflower or light olive)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Swirl magic:
- 1 tbsp matcha powder + 1 tbsp warm water
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder + 1 tbsp warm water
- Optional: a few dark chocolate chunks or white chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat & Prep:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper cups. - Make the Base Batter:
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, combine milk, oil, egg, and vanilla. Mix wet into dry until just combined — don’t overmix. - Divide & Flavor:
Split batter into two bowls.
• In one: stir in matcha paste.
• In the other: mix in cocoa paste.
Optional: stir chocolate chunks into either half. - Swirl the Dream:
Add a spoonful of each batter into muffin cups, then swirl gently with a toothpick or knife for that marble look. - Bake & Float Away:
Bake 18–20 minutes, or until tops spring back and a tester comes out clean. Let cool slightly. - Serve Soft & Dreamy:
These are magical warm, but also make the best afternoon daydream snack with a cup of tea or coffee.
