Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for Seekh Kabab:
Ingredients:
For the Kababs:
- 500g minced meat (beef, lamb, or chicken)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 1-2 tablespoons oil (for binding)
- Skewers (wooden or metal)
For Serving:
- Sliced onions
- Fresh coriander leaves
- Lemon wedges
- Mint or tamarind chutney
Instructions:
- Prepare the Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine minced meat, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, fresh coriander, lemon juice, and salt.
- Mix thoroughly, and add a bit of oil if the mixture is too dry. You can use your hands for better binding.
- Shape the Kababs:
- Take a handful of the mixture and mold it around the skewer, pressing it firmly so it holds its shape. Shape them into long, cylindrical forms.
- Repeat until all the mixture is used.
- Preheat the Grill:
- Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Grill the Kababs:
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are nicely browned and cooked through.
- Serve:
- Serve hot with sliced onions, lemon wedges, and chutney.
