Crispy Baked Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- For the Wings:
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked or regular)
- Optional: your favorite hot sauce or BBQ sauce for coating
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Prepare the Wings:
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps achieve that crispy texture.
- Coat the Wings:
- In a large bowl, mix the baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until they are evenly coated with the spice mixture.
- Arrange on Rack:
- Place the coated wings on the wire rack in a single layer. Make sure there’s space between each wing for air circulation.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Optional Sauce Coating:
- If you want to add sauce, remove the wings from the oven, toss them in your favorite hot sauce or BBQ sauce, and return them to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes.
- Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese.
