Ingredients:
- 500g beef (cut into chunks)
- 2 medium onions (sliced)
- 2 tomatoes (chopped)
- 1/2 cup yogurt (whisked)
- 3 tbsp ghee/oil
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 cardamom pods, 2-3 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups water
Instructions:
- Brown Onions: Heat ghee/oil, fry onions until golden. Remove some for garnish.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add ginger-garlic paste and whole spices, cook for 1 min.
- Cook Beef: Add beef, brown, then stir in turmeric, chili, coriander, and salt. Cook for 2-3 mins.
- Add Tomatoes & Yogurt: Stir in tomatoes, cook until soft. Add yogurt, mix well.
- Simmer: Add water, bring to boil, then simmer for 45-60 mins until beef is tender and the gravy thickens.
- Finish: Stir in garam masala. Garnish with fried onions and coriander.
