  • 500g beef (cut into chunks)
  • 2 medium onions (sliced)
  • 2 tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (whisked)
  • 3 tbsp ghee/oil
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 cardamom pods, 2-3 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Brown Onions: Heat ghee/oil, fry onions until golden. Remove some for garnish.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Add ginger-garlic paste and whole spices, cook for 1 min.
  3. Cook Beef: Add beef, brown, then stir in turmeric, chili, coriander, and salt. Cook for 2-3 mins.
  4. Add Tomatoes & Yogurt: Stir in tomatoes, cook until soft. Add yogurt, mix well.
  5. Simmer: Add water, bring to boil, then simmer for 45-60 mins until beef is tender and the gravy thickens.
  6. Finish: Stir in garam masala. Garnish with fried onions and coriander.
